Barrios: Arizona & Puerto Rico

Barrios: Arizona & Puerto Rico presents a selection of recent works created in Tucson, Arizona, and Carolina, Puerto Rico. These works reflect an ongoing exploration of the natural beauty and architectural character of both urban and rural settings, particularly those shaped by working-class communities. 

Through careful attention to form, line, color, light, and atmosphere, the exhibition seeks

to reveal the inherent beauty of these environments, even amidst the complexities of

social and political realities. The paintings are not literal representations, but rather

interpretive compositions—rooted in observed elements such as sky, light, and structure,

and transformed through an intuitive and imaginative process.

The exhibition invites viewers to engage deeply with each work, encouraging an

immersive experience of color, climate, and atmosphere that evokes both place and

emotion.
